Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) invites online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for appointment to the following posts. Applicants are requested to apply through online mode only. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
1. SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER – 01 post (UR) Pay Level: 13 (as per 7th CPC)
(PB4 ₹37400 - 67000, Grade Pay: ₹8700 as per 6th CPC)

Age Limit: Not more than 55 years

Educational & Other Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with 15 years’ experience out of
which at least 9 years must be at the Executive Engineer level.

Desirable:  Experience  in  design,  estimation  and  execution  of  Civil  Engineering  works,  supervision  of construction of multi-storied buildings, maintenance of buildings & roads in Govt. or Govt. undertakings/ PSU/ National level Institutions.
2. SENIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER – 03 posts (UR)

Pay Level: 12 (as per 7th CPC)
(PB3 ₹15600 - 39100, Grade Pay: ₹7600 as per 6th CPC)

Age Limit: Not more than 45 years (No upper age limit for internal candidates)

Educational & Other Qualification : First class BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering / MSc in Physics or Chemistry or Molecular Biology or equivalent degree in said disciplines and 8 years’ of relevant experience in PB-3 and GP-5400/- (Pay Matrix Level 10 as per 7th CPC) & above.
Or
M. Tech in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 6 years’ of relevant experience in PB-3 and GP-
5400/- (Pay Matrix Level 10 as per 7th CPC) & above.
Or
PhD  in Civil Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Molecular Biology  with 5 years’ of
relevant experience in PB-3 and GP-5400/- (Pay Matrix Level 10 as per 7th CPC) & above.
3. STUDENTS’ COUNSELLOR – 01 post  (UR)

Pay Level: 10 (as per 7th CPC)
(PB3 ₹15600-39100, Grade Pay: ₹5400 as per 6th CPC)

Age Limit: Below 50 years

Educational & Other Qualification:  Post Graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline from accredited and recognized Institutions with specializations in areas of Counselling, Psychotherapy and / or Clinical Psychology.

Desirable:   At least 3 years experience as practicing professional or as in-house counsellor. Experience of similar work in higher educational institutions will be given weightage.

4. SENIOR SECURITY OFFICER – 01 post (UR)

Pay Level: 10 (as per 7th CPC)
(PB3 ₹15600-39100, Grade Pay: ₹5400 as per 6th CPC)

Age Limit: Not more than 55 years

Method of Recruitment: Direct Recruitment (with provision of deputation) for a tenure of 5 years.

Educational  &  Other  Qualification:    Commissioned  Officer of  Military  or Para-Military Services  /  Deputy Superintendent  or  Assistant  Commandant  of  Police/Security  Force  having  a  Bachelor’s  degree  from  a recognized university with at least 5 years’ experience in the Police/ Security Services.
OR
Junior Commissioned Officer at the level of Subedar Major of Military / Para Military Services or Inspector of
Police having a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 15 years’ experience.
OR
A Bachelor's degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in the qualifying degree with overall
20 years relevant experience in security service in University / Central Autonomous Body / CFTI / PSU, out of which at least 5 years’ experience in the Pay Level – 8 (Pay Band-2 Grade Pay of ₹4800/- as per 6th CPC) or its equivalent.

Retired person may also apply. Their candidature will be considered in absence of sizable number of suitable candidates from amongst applicants from the above mentioned criteria. However, in case of such candidates, the term of appointment shall not go beyond 5 years after the age of superannuation. If selected, the candidates from this category will be paid a consolidated sum of ₹ 60,000/- per month with an annual increment of ₹ 2,000/-.
Desirable:

i) Should be able to ride motor cycle, motor car and handle fire arms; should be of sound health and active habits; should be conversant with security rules and procedures to deal with Police and the Public.

13.    The Institute reserves the right to assign / transfer the selected candidates for the post of Senior
Technical Officer to any departments/ centre/ school within the Institute.
14.    Institute reserves the right to hold a written test and /or skill test, if necessary to shortlist the candidates
and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview.
15.    Degrees as referred above are those which have been awarded by UGC / AICTE recognized University
/Institution.
16.    The Institute shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by an applicant at any time during
the process of recruitment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the applicants are fake or the applicant has undesirable or clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his /her services shall be terminated forthwith.
17.    In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even
after the issue of appointment letter, the Institute reserves the right to modify/ withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the applicant.
18.    The Institute reserves the right not to fill the post advertised and to reject any or all the applications
without assigning any reason.
