NOTIFICATION FOR TEMPORARY FACULTY RECRUITMENT - 2022
The National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is an Institute of National Importance, established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India imparts education in the field of Engineering, Science and Management at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. Applications are invited in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for the position of Temporary Faculty in various departments of the Institute as detailed below purely on a temporary basis with a consolidated remuneration (Rs.50,OOOI- per month for Ph.D. and RsAO,OOOI- per month for M.Techl ME).
Essential Qualification: M.Techl ME in the relevant discipline. Further, for Generall aBC candidates, minimum First Class (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA) both at UG and PG Level and for SCI ST candidates, minimum 55% marks (CGPA 6/10) both at UG and PG Level.
Desirable Qualification: Ph.D. in relevant field.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND RELEVANT INFORMATION
1. Temporary Faculty is expected to assist the Institute for the academic transformation in respect of Teaching UGI PG Courses, curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation. They are also expected to collaborate with the regular faculty members of the Department in Research, Consultancy, and other departmental activities. They should be academically strong in their respective areas and should be able to communicate effectively with the students.
2. Applications in the specified format (available at www.nitk.ac.in) sent by post to the concerned Head of the Department before the time limit will only be considered.
3. Reservations are applicable as per the Government of India norms.
4. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for an interview. In all matters, the decision of the Institute will be final.
5. Consolidated remuneration fixed at the time of joining will not be changed during the period of appointment.
6. No other allowances are admissible.
7. The appointment is purely temporary for one semester and extendable further depending on the performance as per Government! Institute norms.
8. Canvassing in any manner will result in the disqualification of the candidate.
9. Shortlisted candidates for the interview will be intimated through email/ mobile-only. No separate call letter for the interview will be issued.
10. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for an interview in online/ physical mode.
11. Completed application forms in all respects along with the Self•Attested photocopies of relevant certificates!• testimonials! research papers etc., are to be sent to the respective Head of Department by Speed! Registered Post so as to reach the Institute on or before 24•01•2022.

12. The cover should be superscribed as, 'APPLICA nON FOR THE POST OF TEMPORARY FACULTY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF '. No request for a change of interview schedule shall be entertained.
13. Candidates who have completed Ph.D.! M.Tech/ ME in the Academic Year 2020-2021 have to produce the Degree Certificate/ Provisional Degree Certificate at the time of the interview, failing which they will not be considered for an interview.
14. The candidates are required to attach the following documents along with the application.
a. Valid Photo-ID.
b. Date of Birth certificate.
c. All academic/ professional certificates (Mark lists of all semesters/ years of UG, and PG Programmes and Degree/ Provisional certificate of Ph.D., PG, and UG Programmes).
d.Category certificate (SCI STI Non-creamy layer aBCI EWSI PwD Certificate) from the Competent
Authority.
e. Non-creamy layer OBC/ EWS Certificate obtained from a Competent Authority (not below the rank of a Tahsildar) should have been issued on or after 01-04-2021.
f. GATE/ NET/ CSIR NET Score Card (if any).
g. Experience Certificate(s) from previous employers (if any). h. Re-prints of research publications (if any)
J. Any other information related to eligibility.
15. Qualification and Specialization given in Annexure-I.
16. Institute reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process of Temporary Faculty in partial or full without assigning any reasons whatsoever.
17. This post does not confer any right on the applicant to claim either continuous employment or permanency in future.
18. Incomplete applications/ applications not in the prescribed format will be rejected without intimation.
19. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
20. The Institute reserves the right to shortlist the number of candidates depending upon the number of applications received or the qualifications of the applicants. No separate intimation will be made to the candidates who are not shortlisted. The decision of the Selection Committee is final.
21. The applicants are requested to visit the website of the Institute daily for any updated information regarding the recruitment process.
22. The number of vacancy indicated in the advertisements are tentative and subject to change. The Institute reserves the right to change the number of positions based on the requirement.
23. Selected candidates will be informed by email/mobile, and they are expected to join immediately.
